THE BIG 3-0...

Meet Carissa. She is one of my life-long best friends. One of my "besties" if that doesn't sound too jr. high. Today she turns 30. The BIG 3-0. I thought a birthday blog was in order - since its not everyday that a girl turns thirty.

You see her 30th birthday not only celebrates her 30 years of life, but a decade of her friendship. I don't doubt that she will be in my life, forever. If you aren't friends with Carissa, you seriously should be. She is one of a kind. If you don't know her, let me paint a picture. First off, she is just as beautiful inside as she is outside - and she is gorgeous. I could never describe Carissa in only 1 word. Beautiful. Fun. Caring. Talented. Spontaneous. Fierce. Generous. Loving. Smiley. Contagious. Hilarious. Passionate. Supportive. Faithful. Honest. Confident.

She is probably one of the funniest people I have ever met. She will bring me to tears of laughter. Pee in your pants funny. My abs are tighter & my smile is brighter after hanging out with her.

Carissa and I became friends in college when we were roomies at OSU. From the first moment I met here through my friend Cori at Java Dave's in T-town, I knew we would be life long friends. That's just how she is. She's cool like that.

If you don't have a "Carissa" in your life - I seriously suggest you find one. She will make you laugh and cry. She will confront you and support you. She will be there for you whenever you need it. She inspires you to be more. She takes on life with a passion and fierceness that none can rival. She rocks - plain and simple. I adore her, her husband and her beautiful kiddos.

Wow - this blog got way more serious than I planned. I started this blog being a silly little birthday blog (taunting someone about being 6 months older than me) and it turned into full-blown cheesiness.

So in honor of C's 30th b-day, let me share some top memories:
1) Moving into 80 University Circle.
2) Trip to CO to celebrate her 21st b-day.
3) Late night conversations in the bunk-beds.
4) The basement blow-out.
5) Spelling. Enough said.
6) Pink cookies. 20 extra pounds on all of us.
7) speaking of cookies....the cookie throwing incident at Girl's Weekend '06.
8) Wedding week in Mazatlan.
9) Shopping trip weekend in KC.
10) Job's daughters festivities (including driving around the drug dealer mobile)
SO C- I'm terribly sorry to miss the festivities this weekend, but know I am there in spirit (Feel free to print off a super cute pic of me and put it at my place during dinner!)
I love you.
I thank God for you.
I wish you the happiest of birthdays sweet friend!
PS: I am seriously bummed that I haven't scanned college pics into my iphoto. But in the long run, its probably better....

Oh, and since that was such an unbelievably awesome blog from such an unbelievable friend, I will forgive some of the AWFUL pictures of me that you posted! :)

  4. Yes, please scan and post pictures from our Junior year where there is plenty of proof of the dangers of eating too many "pink cookies!"
