TWO MONTHS?!

I know, I'm a few days late, but being a stay at home mom is a little busier than I thought. I seriously thought we'd wake up, head to starbucks and chat up the locals for a bit. Every morning. Yeah right.

It is so hard to believe that Campbell is already two months old. In so many ways it feels like just yesterday that we were meeting her for the very first time. We survived the longest pregnancy on earth - I swear I was pregnant 2 years. Honestly - it all seems so long ago. The past two months have been wonderful. We find ourselves growing every day as parents. I've decided that parenthood is one big adventure in trial and error. It definitely keeps us on our toes. We are slowly starting to get into a routine. She is becoming a wonderful napper. She currently takes 3 a day anywhere from 2 - 3 hours each. Bed time is still a struggle as we are having a hard time moving from a late afternoon/evening nap into going to bed for the evening.  She prefers to go to bed at 11:30 and wake up around 5:30 - as soon as I leave for my run in the morning - leaving her daddy to get out of bed to entertain her. (Thanks honey!)  She now weighs  9lb 12oz (25% - wahoo we hit the 20s!) We love seeing that she already has little fat rolls on her legs. WAHOO! Fatten this baby up! She got her two month shots yesterday. Holy Moses. Don't know if it was harder on her or mama. Now I see why some people don't vaccinate. Just kidding. Kind of.  Anyways - our big goal is working on sleep right now. Each day/week things seem to get a little easier and we fall into more of a routine.

Here is a mama indulged update on our little lady:
Likes:
smiling - she loves to entertain herself and others with her smile.
her mirror - you would think she was in love with herself. I think she smiles bigger at herself than her daddy or I
her stuffed octopus- LOVES this little toy- it goes with us on errands to help keep her happy. She just smiles and bats at it. It's pretty cute to watch.
car rides - she slept the ENTIRE way to Tulsa on her first road trip
baths- loves to just hang out in the water
Moving- She is such an active baby. The docs weren't kidding when at each US they would comment on how active she is. She can roll from stomach to back and from back to side. I'm pretty sure she's gifted. =)

Dislikes:
swaddling: Thanks to Happiest Baby on the Block DVD we're bringing it back in style, but she's not too happy about it. Lucky for us, when she gets done pitching her fit, she's calm as a cucumber.
naps/bed time: she's quite the social butterfly and would prefer to stay awake and hang out with us, but us mean parents make her go to bed. The nerve of some parents!

While we were in Tulsa last week, one of my best friends Carissa took some pics of her. Carissa was an incredible support through our pregnancy and kept talking about the pics she would take of Campbell Hope someday. It definitely kept that hope alive in my heart that I would have a baby to take pictures of.

PS: If you live in the Tulsa area and need a photographer - hook yourself up with Carissa. She's a natural at capturing the essence of people. Her pictures reveal their personalities and are truly beautiful (Now if you are looking for some cheesy church directory Olan Mills-esq pics - she's not for you)

Campbell Hope - you have brightened our lives and turned us into a family. Everyday I find myself thanking God for making me your mama. You have completely captured my heart. And yes. You have your daddy completely wrapped around your tiny dainty pinkie.

  4. Shots are the worst. Fat rolls are the best.
