anyways. a recap on my menu from last week. apparently with the blizzard came my desire for comfort food? and cookie dough. i need to keep warm, okay? goodness knows i'm practically wasting away. (ha! yeah right.) by the way, I might have managed to go all week long with out any fruits or veggies. oops.
Home made pizza. bought the wrong dough. crap. bought the glutten free dough at WF and it was SO not the same. we both agreed that won't be happening again. stick to the real deal. (frozen section and it's like $2...can't make it for that price folks)
BBQ pork sandwiches: Oh my yumminess! We paired that with some highly processed velveeta shells and cheese. folks, we had to survive the blizzard. yum yum yum.
Mushroom/Swiss chicken with Heather's brussel sprouts didn't happen. don't remember why, but they are on the menu for tonight.
Here's what's cooking:
Monday: Mushroom/Swiss Chicken, brown nutty rice, Heather's brussel sprouts
Tuesday: Shredded Beef Tacos, broccoli
Wednesday: Greek meat balls, orzo, spinach salad with garlic vinaigrette
Thursday: Denise's soup, cornbread
(Nope, I don't know denise. But this soup comes highly recommended)
Hope you all stay warm and dry as we wait for the next winter storm. And for all my friends and family in oklahoma on their 43 snow day...hang in there. i'll be thinking of you while i'm at the pool in july and you (or your kids) are still in school....

Do you want to know how many times I made homemade chocolate chip cookies in the last 5 days...THREE. That's right. I ate zero cookies from the first two batches (only because I do NOT count eating the dough as cookies. dough doesn't really count, right? my thoughts are, it isn't cooked yet, so if I eat 10 cookies worth of dough, that doesn't count.) The third batch, well, I don't really want to talk about it. I may or may not have made it in cookie cake form with cream cheese icing and sprinkles. It wasn't pretty. I know how many pieces I ate but I'm not putting it on a public forum. It's embarrassing, really.
ReplyDeleteGlad you liked the BBQ pork. I am posting a chicken pot pie that I made this week that was to die for. If you want comfort food, it will NOT disappoint!
If you ever want to make your own pizza dough, Pioneer Woman's is SO easy. It is just flour, warm water, yeast and salt. Make it in the morning, use it at night. And it tastes great.
ReplyDeletemmm, your menu looks good...and it's only 8:30am. i'll eat yet another bowl of cheerios instead.
ReplyDeleteoh and btdubs, i never answered one part of that email....i use lightroom to edit pics. photoshop is too fussy for me.
I always swing by Minsky's and buy a fresh dough ball for $2. It's DELISH.
ReplyDeleteI find it hilarious that you serve broccoli with your beef tacos. You're serious about your veggies, my friend!
