Cute, huh?
(and no - she is not nursing - we are sleeping)
I promise that I did not wake up from a glorious nap with my baby girl, realize it was Thursday, tell Mat to grab the camera, make sure he got my best angle, in the best light, rub mascara off my face
.... and then pretend to be back asleep.
These cute pics just happen. Yep.
This {embrace} the camera goes out to the nurse at my pediatrician's office yesterday who "scolded" me for not sleep training my 4 week old baby. Yep. I'll take sleep anyway I can get it right now. Even if she falls asleep beside me on the couch. Oh and don't worry about the safety issue. My fur baby, Harley aka "Good Dog Carl" was protecting her. (seriously - one of my all time favorite books if you haven't read it, go buy it now. You will thank me for it.)
Oh - and I will be sleep training. But not yet. Until she is old enough for it, I plan on enjoying each and every moment that she falls asleep in my arms or on my chest. It's cute now. Not so cute when she is 16.

i love that your embrace the camera has harley in it..... sweet girls!!!!
ReplyDeleteShe's still little to be sleep training. I agree with you. Enjoy those precious cuddles. I did. Before you know it she'll be 1, then 2, then 4. Time flies.
ReplyDeleteI adore this shot... especially since you did NOT stage anything! ;) I also love your dog's sweet little face!
ReplyDeleteOh, and ignore the nurse. Take all of the time you need. I've found that everyone in the world has an opinion and that 99% of those opinions are worth throwing out the window.
Snuggles are the best {dude forget "sleep training"!} she WILL sleep on her own. Enjoy her warmth on your skin all snugly and smelling sweet.

Wishing many more summer days on the couch napping with your baby girl.

ReplyDeletethat's an awesome photo! well done, mat!
ReplyDeleteuh, heck no on the sleep training at 4 weeks old.
Enjoy the snuggles it goes too fast. With Joy, Carey
ReplyDeletestupid nurse! the pic is adorable.
ReplyDeleteno, you do not sleep train a baby at 4 weeks. they rule the roost for a while. at 8 weeks...for sanity sake, you might try to get her on a schej.
ReplyDeletevery cute pic. frame it!
MY guess is that the nurse who recommended sleep training at 1 month old, doesn't have children of her own. Just a hunch:) You enjoy every minute and you do it when you want to, or when she let's you know she is ready!!! Kennedy wasn't ready until 4 months. (Ok, 5 months)
ReplyDeletesuch a sweet picture, bethany. what a mean nurse! people and their opinions...gotta love them :)
ReplyDeleteSNUGGLE!!! Sleep training comes later.
ReplyDeleteLOVE it! Snuggly are the best.
