i miss my blog

i realized something tonight. when it comes time to turn my blog into a book this year, i won't have many posts to put in it. i'll have lots and lots of pictures of other people's babies, but not a ton of mine. ouch. {way to embrace your baby's first year, huh?} don't get me wrong - there are a lot of cute babies on my blog. but in 25 years when i'm looking back through our blog book and campbell's first year of life, i want to see her little face.

then i thought about all the family pics i haven't had time to blog this year. lake weekends. campbell meeting her great grandad and celebrating his 90th birthday. campbell's adventure with the goats. {that's right. goats. get excited...it's coming}

when i started my blog a few years ago my intention was to follow our soon to be growing family. i documented our pregnancy, our trials through pregnancy, our trials adventures with a newborn. i've opened up and poured out my heart through some incredibly difficult times. i've shared thoughts that i haven't been able to speak out loud. i've shared a few funny stories & embarrassing moments as a new mom. through that journey i made some incredible blogging friends. friends who have become real life friends (not just blog stalking friends... well those too, but you get the idea)

and then my business took off. {and i am NOT complaining in the least} i love my business. i love my clients. i love how God has opened door after door and blessed this passion & talent he's given me. i love that i get to take pictures of other's lives. of their families. of their precious moments. i love love love my job{s}. but bottom line - i'm a mom first. that is my most important job. and part of a mom's greatest responsibility is documenting her family's life & recording memories, both wonderful & difficult.

so this blog is getting back to its roots. it's going to follow our little family and our adventures. there might be a few recipes, a few book reviews, a weekly menu here and there, and a lot of funny stories. i might even embrace the camera again. there will still be lots and lots of pictures. but pretty much just pictures of our family. Occasionally I will still post sessions...but the majority of the posts will be focused on  our family life.

so i am still in business. in fact, i'm busier than ever...and loving every minute. sneak peeks will still be posted on my facebook page here.  (so if you do enjoy looking at photography sessions, feel free to visit the page, "like" it and browse away.)

And if you are ready for more funny stories about the Good life and less sessions, then you are in luck.
