It's no cajun cone...but it did the job

aka holy heatwave kansas city...

it's been so hot lately that even her little piggies are sweaty.
no joke.

a friend recently asked me if i had a childhood food that i am still obsessed with
immediately I was overwhelmed with memories of Cajun Cones in abilene, texas.
it's a snow cone stand owned by one of my childhood bf Annalee's family.
during the summer i remember going there after church on wednesday nights or tennis lessons
and eating the most amazing snow cones known to man
all while getting to play with my friends.
it's a small town guys...you know everyone there.
it's seriously like a scene out of FNL
(Friday Night Lights.... another one of my obsessions I'll save for another post)
I've seriously been trying to figure out how I could
1) open a CC franchise in PV
2)have a CC shipped on dry ice to me
3) talk my friend kristin into bringing one back with her next time she's in abilene

Until then, I've had to settle for something a tad closer to home
uhm can I just say.
a-freaking-mazing?!

We took our little lady
her little piggies
& her sweaty chunky monkeys
there yesterday
for her first taste of snow cones.

She's a fan.

and lest you be the judgmental type
and are freaking out because I fed my child a snowcone
filled with sugar and high fructose corn syrup
and all sorts of crap
never you fear.
these cones are all natural and organic and sweetened with agave.

the coolest part is that this business is in a funky vintage trailer
{which i didn't get any pics of unfortunately}
and then you get to enjoy your snow cones in a cool little garden.

(the business changes locations, so make sure you check out her website or fb page
to know where you can find it!)

i had the watermelon basil
yum.
and mat had the green tea pear.
also yum.

little miss had both.

and if she doesn't hate me for the first pic...this one will surely do the trick
sorry little lady, but i just couldn't help myself...

  1. Love it. Way to bring it back to the fam posts. Like I said. YOU GO GIRL. But let's talk about FNL. Um, last episode Friday...yes, I'm in tears just thinking about it. I will need you to call for moral support. And I will need wine. Probably lots of wine.

  4. I do love a good snow cone and would be a faithful customer if you open a CC franchise.

And btw...that last pic of Campbell is one of the most hilarious things I've EVER seen. It's almost like you can see her slowly drifting into a sugar coma.
