{embrace} the limes

apparently we have a lime fan on our hands?
pretty sure it has everything to do with the fact that i adored
lime/lemon flavored stuff when i was preggo:
sonic lemon slushies ( a preggers dream)
lemonade girl scout cookies (oh my word....)
lemon heads
you get the idea...

who knows...maybe it helps teething?
or maybe the flavor just matched her disposition yesterday?
don't judge unless you've been there...

anyways, this little lady chewed on that lime all evening long

want to embrace the camera?
it's been ages since i have, but I miss it.

so check out the anderson family and get your embrace on.

{embrace} the camera: cowlick edition

so we've been rocking a cowlick all week long.
i've tried everything to get rid of it and it just won't go away.
and I can't hide it any longer with a bow.
it seems last week, when she said her first word
"bow"
(true story)
that she really meant
"no bow"
because she now rips them out
every single time.
*sigh*
so we are on a bow hiatus. for now.
the battle is not over. don't you worry.
oh well. I just tell myself that she is making me feel better
about my ghetto-licious hair that has overgrown highlites. majorly.
and i won't even get started on my eyebrows.
what a sweet, considerate child I have.

oh and I just realized that in almost every picture i post she is wearing this same hot pink
gap owl onesie. yes it's cute.
but really it's because it hides the blueberry stains that she is obsessed with
it's  always freshly washed, ironed, folded and put away in her
perfectly organized dresser.
ha.

{embrace} the camera: spring fever!!

   Spring has sprung!
Well, kind of.
Around here it feels like spring every 4th day or so.
Then we have a blizzard or an ice storm.
But anyways - we rock these spring days like they are going out of style.

this is my new favorite picture...

Is it bad that I've prayed that C won't be too much of a girly girl?
I mean...obviously I'm all about bows, cute clothes, ridiculously adorable shoes
and I do look forward to mommy daughter pedis {just being honest}
but I want her to like bugs, and sticks & rocks.
I want her to go exploring
and look for tadpoles
I want her to play sports,
go on fishing trips with her daddy
speed down double diamonds {again...with her daddy}
so you can imagine how happy I was when she loved the mud, grass, leaves & sticks yesterday...
in her jeggins & zebra bow.

that's how we roll around here.

{embrace} the apple geeks

my husband  our family is totally geeky about all things apple.
it's kind of ridiculous.

apparently, so is our child...

And for those of you who are judging our parenting style right now,
I'll have you know that not only is she spending
quality time with her daddy,
she is learning

vocabulary words,

basic reading skills,

BUT she is also learning to
read EKGs

and build websites.

Not bad for a child who isn't allowed to watch TV!

I bet you're sorry you judged us, aren't you?

{embrace} the camera

Meet my second shooter.

Well, kind of.
Actually not at all...but it sounds cute.

I guess this is what happens when your mom
starts a photography business.
You get to "help" when she has a session
by getting the camera on the right settings,
setting up the family room studio
testing out the props
trying some poses.
Just another day at the Good house.

and mom completely ignores the fact that you have some sort of crap on your face.

And by the way, this little lady has been on a ridiculous amount
of sessions. You should see a 35 wk prego trying to take pictures up on  wall
or in a tree
or laying on her belly in the grass.
Hilarious.

I'm not sure if she's more helpful now .... or then...

PS: Some of you have asked about the water mark. I put them on all my posted clients pics (obviously). And now I put them on all of our family pics. It is WAY too easy to steal pics out there in blogger land.
Talk about creepy.
If you don't do it, I highly recommend it. Google how to do it ... it's not hard at all.

{embrace} the camera: uggalicious

Remember these teeny tiny toes??

There now covered in teeny tiny uggs.

And yes, we rock our mommy daughter uggs with our mommy daughter skinny jeans.
In public.
Just in case you were wondering.
Ridiculous. I know.

PS: Completely, utterly, totally ready for spring and bare little toes.

{Embrace} the Camera Guacamole, Margaritas and a 5 month old.

This post is the blogging version of multi tasking.

And before you go all nutso and call child protective services on me, please know that I did not feed my child guac and margs. Rather the title sums up the craziness of the past 2 weeks. I, on the other hand survived on a steady diet of coffee, guac and margs for 8 days straight. Bliss.

Last winter on a cold icky day I wrote this blog about my intense need for a vacation. Well that very same night we wound up inviting ourselves planning our Mexication with my inlaws. This little getaway has been the carrot dangling in front of me for the past 8 months. And it was everything I hoped and needed it to be. Ahhhhhh Mexico. Love me some Mexico.

This location is extra special to us because it is where we got married almost 5 years ago. (Uhm I can't find any of our wedding photos right now.....yikes.)

I think several friends thought we were crazy for taking a 5 month old to Mexico but she was a dream. She loved flying so much that she just sat in my lap and smiled.  She had 4 people at her beck and call day and night for 8 days. And she loved every minute of it. She played in the baby pool, went down to the beach and took lots of strolls in the BOB. She got to spend some much needed time with her Grammy and Grandad Good while her mama and daddy got some time together: runs, pool time, strolls on the beach, margs at the adult only (translation "blue hair") pool. It was heaven. Mat treated me to an entire afternoon at the spa. Alone. While he had a dance party with Campbell. We're talking a wrap, massage, facial, vichy shower  & pedicure. Heaven on earth. It was so wonderful I almost cry thinking about it.

As far as a 5 month report, you should know that we've got the following going on at the Good house: LOTS and LOTS of babbling, tons of smiles and giggles and for the first time today at the PAT play group - SITTING UP ALONE. Holy moses my baby is growing up. Next thing you know she'll be walking across the stage at her medical school graduation. Or law school. whatever.  There is no official 5 month photo shoot this month since Mexico was basically a week long photo shoot for her.
Hanging out at DIA. Let's get this show on the road...

paradise... or pretty darn close

not bad, eh?

Thanks Grammy for the adorable bikini!

{embrace} the camera

Big 12 edition

We love our Big 12 sports at the Good house.
We've got a CU & OSU alum in the same home.
Mat's medical training has been at OSU & KU...
I grew up watching Tech football...
My bro did his medical training at OU & CU.
Mat's parents & grandparents all went to KU
It's ridiculous how many ties we have to the Big 12.

So needless to say, you can imagine the horror I felt
when the Big 12 was talking about disbanning.
I was also crazy hormonal and about 12 months prego.

Football, Basketball whatever the sport  - we are faithful spectators...
And now so is C

Pre baby days....
And yes... OSU did win that night in case you are wondering

PS: Thank you Aunt Amy & Uncle DJ for the adorable game gear=)

{embrace} the Camera: 4 months

So this is what I was doing 4 months ago today.

Meeting my baby girl for the first time.
(don't you LOVE the nurse's face. She was seriously my fave.)

So hard to believe. I never knew life could be so good. This has been by far my favorite month. I wish I would have known the first 3 months how GOOD it gets... sleepless nights, scream fests & listening to the dyson 5 hours a day would've been a little easier to take!

She's now a whopping 12lb 7 oz (25%) & 24 inches long (50%). HUGE if you ask me!

What's new:
Laughing. She loves to giggle and crack herself up. She'll do just about anything for a laugh.
Feet. She found 'em & she's obsessed.
Naps. WAHOO THANK YOU JESUS! The girl can nap.
Talking. Lots and lots of "talking"
Neck control. She's holding her head high like a big girl.
Sitting. Okay, not really. But she loves to be propped up on the couch next to me. Makes her feel like a big girl
Grabbing. She grabs everything in sight. I'm quickly learning what I have to keep out of her reach.

LOVES:
Singing... any time I sing a little song she chimes right in.
Her Tongue....she pretty much sticks it out an chance she gets.
Splashing...bath time just got a whole lot more interesting.
TV... seriously don't judge. I try hard to keep her away from it, but it doesn't matter where we are she'll find a TV and is happy as a clam.
College football. Again the TV thing. We watch a lot of it around here. We're pretty sure she understands it. After all she IS brilliant.
Other babies... this is a new one, but she loves looking at babies and smiling at them.

DISLIKES:
Night time. Bedtime takes f.o.r.e.v.e.r. Seriously forever.

Oh Campbell Hope, I love you so much. I never knew I could love someone the way I love you. You have changed us in so many wonderful ways. It is such a joy to see you grow. Your daddy claims I treat you like my little doll. It's not true. Well, maybe a little... I'm so happy God chose us to be your parents.

{embrace} the Camera

teeny tiny toes

Love every single roll...even her toe rolls.

PS:
One of these pairs of tootsies is in desperate need of a pedi...

9.23.2010

{embrace} the Camera & stuff...

So miss priss decided to start laughing this week.
And my #1 goal every day is to make her laugh.
Have I mentioned lately how much I love my new job?
I know, it's a bit blurry...but you get the drift.
Oh? And the extra blur in the top 2 images?
That's Dirvs.
To know Dirvs is to love Dirvs.
She's a rescue pug with some issues.
In the words of our vet, "Mam, your dog is weird as hell"
She is. And we love her dearly.
Dirvs=whirling dirvish. Get it? She spins. Constantly.

Oh and just because she's cute...

In the words of my homeland, Texas, "Happy Fall, y'all".

I stole this pumpkin onesie idea from my friend (& fellow Texan) Annalee. Cute huh?
Thanks for tweetin' it Annalee!

{embrace} the Camera

#10
When I hung this onesie up in the bathroom
11 months ago today
announcing a little "surprise" to Mat,
we had no idea the little person
that would some day wear it.
So we just called "it" #10 for awhile.
Catchy, right?

Now #10's little tush is a perfect fit in her onesie.
(And I love me some baby tush...)

just in time for football season.
You see at the Good house we are serious about our football.
Life is scheduled around football.
Broncos, Chiefs, Cowboys (as in OSU), Jayhawks, Buffs
It doesn't really matter as long as you aren't cheering for any "sooners"...
(sorry heather...)

This fall we will be cheering bumbo style.
come on Tebow... lets get a move on already!
Pass the guac would ya lady?
Geez mom, enough already. I've got a game to watch here.

And mama's happy .... as long as there is a cute bow to wear on game day.
